While working in the mobile phone industry, there was always one thing about getting a new phone that would worry everyone.
CAN I KEEP MY INFORMATION?
The short answer is….YES!
Keeping your information when getting a new device has become a lot easier than it used to be. No more having to connect the phone to a computer or laptop to manually drag and drop everything across onto the new device.
It is now as simple as putting the phones next to each other!
Checklist:
☑ Make sure the old iPhone is running iOS 11 or later. Update to the latest version if necessary. (Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for updates)
☑ Enable Bluetooth on the old device. (Go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure it is turned on)
☑ Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on both iPhones and that they are both on the same Wi-Fi network. (Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and make sure they are both on the same Wi-Fi)
☑ Charge both iPhones to at least 80% battery level or plug them into a power source to avoid the transfer from stopping.
☑ Place both iPhones close to each other for the Quick Start process to work properly.
Backup (Optional):
Consider creating a backup of your old iPhone before starting the transfer process, in case something goes wrong.
